Might be quite a strong and harsh word to be used on a few but just the right word for the rest out there.

Friendships were so simple and clear when I was a kid. My friends were mine, no matter what. As we mature, the definition of the word friendship changes. There are so many new additions to it. Rivalry, jealousy, competition and diplomacy. People know how to use friendship as a tool to get things done.I know I am surrounded by fake people. Dual-faced back-stabbers. But then, this bunch of fake friends is all that I have today. If I leave them, I have nowhere to go. The new friends are too new to adjust, and the present ones are too fake to trust. I know what it means to be alone, even when you have a gang of friends. I know I can’t be what they are and I can never make them what I am. All I can do is wait, and endure. For I know that if I leave them and walk away, I’m just giving in to them and trying to escape the truth.

With age, the innocence of friendships fades away :( . The concept of best-friends-forever is purely imaginary. We grow, we change, we make new friends, forget the old ones. The cycle repeats itself over again. And somewhere along the way, we find ourselves trapped among fake people. People that don’t love us for what we are, but for what they want out of us. Our parents are right when they say, it’s a selfish world out there.But you simply cannot leave your friends and walk away, just because you know how fake they are. Maintain distance. Space out from them. But never let the bond die. Set your priorities and be with those who acknowledge you, those who have accepted you the way you are. Be with those who make you happy, be it just a handful of people. For life is too short to waste it on people who aren’t worth your time and emotions.
